Snoring Surgery with QMR from Italy Now Available at RS Mandaya Royal Puri

Operasi Ngorok Metode QMR asal Italia, Kini Hadir di RS Mandaya Royal Puri

RS Mandaya Royal Puri officially inaugurated its Integrated Sinus & Snoring Center on Saturday (Oct 4). The center represents Mandaya’s commitment to providing modern, minimally invasive ENT solutions for patients, including treatment for chronic snoring caused by Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) without major surgery — through Quantum Molecular Resonance (QMR) technology.

This launch is the result of a strategic collaboration with Centro Businco, a renowned ENT center from Italy that has treated more than 9,000 patients, including global icons such as football legend Francesco Totti and international tenor Andrea Bocelli.

The inauguration was attended by ENT specialists from RS Mandaya Royal Puri, including dr. Abdillah Hasbi Assadyk, Sp.THT-BKL, MPH, dr. Dewi Lizanty, M.Kes, Sp.THT-BKL, and Prof. dr. Abdul Kadir, Ph.D, Sp.THT-KL(K), MARS. Also present was neurologist and sleep disorder specialist dr. Dinda Larastika Riyanto, Sp.N, RPSGT. Adding to the prestige of the event, Prof. Lino Di Rienzo Businco, founder and leader of Centro Businco, attended in person as a keynote speaker.

QMR: A Breakthrough to Treat Snoring from Obstructive Sleep Apnea

One of the flagship technologies at the Mandaya Integrated Sinus & Snoring Center is QMR, an innovative solution for patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), often characterized by loud snoring during sleep.

QMR uses high-frequency electromagnetic waves to shrink excess tissue blocking the airway — usually the tonsils and adenoids — without damaging surrounding healthy tissue.

Key benefits of QMR include:

  • Minimally invasive procedure, performed in 15–20 minutes
  • Highly precise treatment, preserving healthy tissue
  • Significantly reduced pain compared to traditional surgery
  • Immediate improvement in breathing and sleep quality

“With QMR, patients suffering from OSA or chronic snoring now have a treatment option that is minimally traumatic, less painful, and quick — lasting only 15–20 minutes. This technology addresses patients’ fears of undergoing major surgery,” explained Erwin Suyanto, Public Relation Manager of Mandaya Hospital Group.

More Minimally Invasive ENT Solutions: Balloon Sinuplasty & Plasma Coblation

In addition to QMR, the center also introduces balloon sinuplasty for chronic sinusitis treatment without major surgery. This procedure involves inserting a small balloon through the nose to open blocked sinus passages. It takes just 15–20 minutes, involves no large incisions, causes minimal discomfort, and has proven to be effective in improving patients’ breathing.

Another advanced option is plasma coblation, which uses low-temperature plasma energy to treat tonsillitis. This technique enables tonsillotomy — removing only the problematic part of the tonsils while preserving their natural immune function. Patients benefit from less pain, faster recovery, and minimal bleeding compared to traditional tonsillectomy.

“These new technologies prove Mandaya’s commitment to advancing ENT care in Indonesia. From chronic sinusitis and tonsillitis to sleep apnea, patients can now be treated at Mandaya with modern, minimally invasive methods,” added Erwin.

Learning from Italy, Bringing World-Class Care to Indonesia

The ENT services at RS Mandaya Royal Puri are strengthened by internationally trained specialists, including dr. Abdillah Hasbi Assadyk. He completed advanced training in Italy with the Centro Businco team under the direct mentorship of Prof. Lino Di Rienzo Businco.

This invaluable experience provided not only theoretical knowledge but also direct hands-on training in advanced minimally invasive procedures. Under the guidance of a world-renowned ENT expert, Dr. Abdillah mastered techniques such as QMR, balloon sinuplasty, and plasma coblation. His expertise ensures highly precise treatments, reduced pain, and faster recovery for patients.

With this expertise, patients in Indonesia no longer need to travel abroad for advanced ENT treatments. World-class care is now available locally, with cutting-edge technology and internationally certified specialists.

“With technologies and expertise brought directly from Italy, Indonesian patients can now enjoy world-class ENT care without leaving the country. This is a significant milestone for Mandaya in providing modern healthcare for our community,” concluded Erwin.
